On the four southern islands, North Stradbroke and Coochiemudlo, the furniture crosses on the truck, because each is served by a vehicle barge. So an island move is a normal removal with one added step: the booked crossing. The three things we plan that a mainland move doesn't need:
- 1 · Deck We book the truck onto the vehicle barge ahead — the deck is limited, so the booking, not the kerb, is what gets locked in first.
- 2 · Tide & timetable The barge runs to a timetable and the ramps work with the tide, so we time the load and the drive to make the crossing we booked.
- 3 · The extra leg We build the crossing and the queue into the day, then the short island drive at the far end, so nothing runs late.
We describe the process, not the timetable. Barge times, fares and deck limits change and are set by the operator, so we confirm the current run and book the deck when we quote. Sources: Weinam Creek terminal, Toondah Harbour, the Victoria Point barge ramp; the island ferry operators.
Southern Moreton Bay islands Vehicle barge
Russell Island · Canaipa
Redland Bay → Weinam Creek terminal ⟿ Russell Island
The truck drives onto the vehicle barge at Weinam Creek and off at Russell Island, so your furniture crosses on the truck. We book the vehicle deck ahead, work to the barge timetable and the tide, and add the crossing and the queue time to the day.
Russell Island is the largest of the southern Moreton Bay islands and is reached by a vehicle barge from the Weinam Creek terminal at Redland Bay, so a removal truck can drive onto the deck and your move crosses the bay with it. · SeaLink SMBI
Southern Moreton Bay islands Vehicle barge
Macleay Island · Jencoomercha
Redland Bay → Weinam Creek terminal ⟿ Macleay Island
The vehicle barge from Weinam Creek carries the truck across to Macleay Island, so the furniture stays on board. We book the deck ahead and time the run to the timetable and the tide, allowing for the crossing and the wait at the ramp.
Macleay Island is served by the same Weinam Creek vehicle barge as Russell Island, so a Macleay move is a normal truck move with one extra leg: the booked barge crossing from Redland Bay. · SeaLink SMBI

Lamb Island · Ngudooroo
Redland Bay → Weinam Creek terminal ⟿ Lamb Island
Lamb Island is on the Weinam Creek vehicle-barge run, so the truck crosses with the load. The island is small with narrow lanes, so we match the truck to the streets and confirm the deck booking and timetable before the day.
Lamb Island, one of the four southern Moreton Bay islands on the Weinam Creek barge run, is small and quiet, so a move here is about right-sizing the truck for the lanes as much as booking the crossing. · SeaLink SMBI

Karragarra Island
Redland Bay → Weinam Creek terminal ⟿ Karragarra Island
Karragarra is the smallest of the four barge-served southern islands. The truck crosses on the Weinam Creek barge; because the island is tiny and lightly built, we keep the truck and crew sized to the lanes and confirm the timetable and deck booking first.
Karragarra Island is the smallest of the four southern Moreton Bay islands reached by the Weinam Creek vehicle barge, so an island move stays simple: a booked crossing, then a short, careful carry. · SeaLink SMBI
North Stradbroke Vehicle barge
North Stradbroke Island · Minjerribah
Cleveland → Toondah Harbour ⟿ North Stradbroke Island
The vehicle barge runs from Toondah Harbour at Cleveland across to Dunwich, so the truck drives on and off and the furniture crosses with it. It is a longer crossing than the southern islands, so we book the deck well ahead, work to the timetable and tide, and plan the drive on to Point Lookout or Amity once we land.
North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah) is reached by the vehicle barge from Toondah Harbour at Cleveland to Dunwich, so a Straddie move is a truck move plus a booked barge crossing, then the island drive to Dunwich, Amity or Point Lookout. · SeaLink Straddie

Coochiemudlo Island · Coochie
Victoria Point → the Victoria Point barge ramp ⟿ Coochiemudlo Island
Coochiemudlo is the short hop, a few minutes across the channel from the Victoria Point barge ramp, so the vehicle barge takes the truck over with little fuss. We still book the barge and time the run to the timetable and tide, and the island roads are quiet once we land.
Coochiemudlo Island sits just off Victoria Point and is reached by a short vehicle barge across the channel, the easiest island crossing in the Redlands, so the truck is on and off in minutes. · Coochiemudlo ferry
